Auschwitz is about a young woman who was deported from Hungary near the end of the war. She survived by jumping off a truck headed for the gas chambers. She was taken with other camp survivors to Sweden, from where she came to the United States. Her mother, who also survived Auschwitz, was trapped after the war in the Soviet Union.
